Relationship Duration

13+ Years

LOCATION

Jackson, Tennessee

Project Overview

In 2020, Allison Contracting served as General Contractor for the full build-out of a 39,000 sq. ft. facility on previously unused Jackson Energy Authority property. The building, originally constructed in the 1950s/60s, had suffered extensive flood and fire damage and had been unusable for years.

The Challenge

JEA has been the utility provider in Jackson, TN for over 60 years, providing water, gas, electric, telephone, cable, and cost-efficient broadband services. As the leading provider of utilities, they needed a partner capable of transforming a heavily damaged, outdated structure into a safe, functional, and modern facility. The project required navigating a complex architectural and electrical redesign while maintaining what was salvageable from the original construction.

How Allison Contracting Delivered

Allison Contracting led the entire renovation process, managing all construction efforts and working closely with JEA’s team. The result was a state-of-the-art facility with modern functionality and durability inside, while preserving the building’s historic character on the outside.

Ongoing Partnership

The relationship between Allison Contracting and JEA continues to thrive. As of August 2025, Allison Contracting closed out an additional build-out within the same facility — delivered four months ahead of schedule and within budget. Photos of the completed space are available upon request.

“Allison Contracting’s willingness to work with us hand in hand during the design process was a huge plus. They did a great job!”
